ON THE WALL IN THE MORNING LIGHT

Warner Music Group

Great Gable’s second album On the Wall in the Morning Light sees the band team up with contemporary artist Marty Baptist—whose darkly playful visuals mirror the band’s lush, emotionally-charged sound. Known for his cryptic iconography, bold colour palettes, and streak of dry, existential humour, Baptist brings a disarming edge to the artwork—one that feels both absurd and strangely intimate.

A cult figure in the Australian art world, Baptist’s work draws from skate culture, suburban detritus, and spiritual disillusionment—balancing sharp wit with raw emotional punch. His contribution doesn’t just decorate the album—it deepens it. The visuals stretch the emotional bandwidth of the record, reinforcing the way Great Gable captures raw, unfiltered moments: wide open, softly lit, and defiantly human.

"Captivating, sun-drenched guitar-pop... richly textural while undeniably hooky and upbeat."

- NME

"The dreamy, summer road trip feel that Great Gable excel in is present in almost all of this album, from the reverb-soaked guitars of 'Our Love', to the romantic 'Pedestal', to cheery album closer 'Do You Belong'."

- LiveWire

Bringing these two creative forces together was no accident. The alignment between Great Gable’s introspective storytelling and Baptist’s visual language was intentional—designed to amplify the album’s mood, tone, and emotional weight. It’s a collaboration rooted in shared sensibility: both artist and band distill everyday experiences into something far more resonant—melancholy, euphoric, and unmistakably Australian.

From overarching artist creative direction to in-market execution, we delivered a full suite of visuals and campaign material that brought On the Wall in the Morning Light to life. This included the complete visual identity across album and single artwork, a cinematic music video for lead track Hazy, and a pre-sale and on-sale creative campaign spanning OOH, digital, DSP collaborations, and merchandise. Every touchpoint—from screen to sleeve to street—was designed to feel cohesive, characterful, and unmistakably Great Gable: an integrated rollout shaped to resonate on every stage the band occupies.
